CETE+ Erasmus+ project

This CETE+ project is a European Consortium for Educational Transformation framed in an Erasmus+ KA120 accreditation, subsidized by the European Union and we have participated in project 21 (basically developed in the 2021-22 academic year) and in project 22 (developed in the 2022-23 academic year).

The general objectives of projects 21 and 22 can be summarized in two main aspects:

  • To make the BE a driver of innovation and inclusion and social cohesion in the centre
  • To involve the educational community, especially students and teachers, in the use of BE, indirectly promoting reading among students and their media literacy

For practical purposes, this project has resulted in hours of training to improve our school library and turn it into a key agent of educational transformation.

In project 21, this training has included two mobilities abroad, two “job shadowings”, in European schools, to learn how the education system works there and, above all, what role the school library plays in good educational practices: in May 2022 two teachers (Vanessa Rodríguez and Vanessa Pina) visited the Danish high school Soenderskov-Skolen; and in September 2022 two more teachers (Esther Palet and Iván Seisdedos) visited the Dutch school Amsterdam International Community School.

With this project, we take another step towards educational innovation by making the library and, ultimately, reading and communication skills a key pillar in student training.

You can consult the travel diaries of the mobility of all these teachers, as well as information on the various activities carried out as a result of participation in these CETE+ projects, on the blog of our school library.

In addition, within this project 21 we have designed an interdisciplinary didactic unit that we have put into practice for the first time this year 2022-23, in the work area for 1st ESO projects: “Discoveries: scientific discoveries of women to discover”. The final product of this unit has been the creation of a timeline with infographics of women who have made major contributions to the history of science.

And also, within project 21, we have carried out two learning situations focused on the training of users of the school library: one for 1st ESO and another for 3rd ESO, which also includes the possibility of do Community Service as library assistants.

This project 21, was closed with the visit to the institute of the coordinators of the school library project! You can read here what the visit consisted of.

On the other hand, during project 22, which started in the 2022-23 academic year, two mobilities have also been carried out abroad, two “job shadowings”, in European schools: one in Portugal and another in Italy. Here we share the travel diaries of the two teachers who have carried out these mobilities:

Mobility at the Agrupamento de Escolas de Santa Maria Maior center (in Viana do Castelo, Portugal), in May 2023:

  • Iván Seisdedos González: mobility journal  in Genially format

Mobility at the IC Cadeo e Pontenure center (institute distributed in two nuclei, one in Roveleto di Cadeo and another in the municipality of Pontenure, Italy), also in May 2023:

  • Vanessa Pina Castro: mobility journal in web format

In addition, one of the activities carried out in our school library in March 2023, the feminist cycle “Thursdays are ours”, received the seal of good school library practice within the line of action that considers the school library as a cultural dynamizer agent of the center. If you follow this link, you will discover what this feminist cycle was about.
